Tufenkian Armenian carpets pay homage to the Armenian Heritage of Tufenkian Founder, James Tufenkian and add a beauty and richness to modern home interiors.

Arriving in 1993, armed with the knowledge gained from recreating the carpet weaving industry in Nepal, to an Armenia stranded at the fall of the Soviet Union with virtually no industry and no electricity, Tufenkian went about rebuilding a tradition.

The Great Caucasus Mountain sheep living in Armenia have long, lustrous wool, the key ingredient to great carpets. Hand carded, hand spun, hand dyed and hand-knotted Tufenkian Design created a series of rich, beautiful, carpets perfect for the modern era.

We have samples of each of the carpets created by Tufenkian but in most cases there are additional color ways available.

In addition, most of the carpets are available in the following standard sizes: 3 x 5, 4 x 6, 8 x 10, and 9 x 12. Many are available in 10 x 14 and as runners in 3 x 10 and 3 x 12. If you have a unique size requirement, custom sizes can always be woven especially for you.
